Terms & Conditions

Alexandra Ramos (PTY) LTD, trading as 'ale ale' and 'That's so nice for you'

Company
Alexandra Ramos (PTY) LTD produces unique, handcrafted ceramic items at its premises in Cape Town, South Africa.

Product Characteristics
Each ceramic item is created in small batches. Due to the handmade process, natural variations may occur between items in terms of colour, glaze, texture, and size. Glaze variations such as minor pinholes, thickness differences, and speckles are considered normal and not defects.

Unless otherwise stated, all items are food safe and made using non-toxic materials. Items are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for optimal care.

Stoneware is semi-porous; condensation or watermarks may occur on surfaces. The Company is not responsible for marks left during use or cleaning.

Orders and Production

  • Ready-made items (not presale): Dispatched within 3–5 working days of order confirmation.

  • Custom or made-to-order items: Production typically requires 2–6 months, depending on size and complexity.


Payment
Payment for all orders must be made in full at the time of ordering, via credit/debit card or EFT.
By providing payment details, the Customer authorises the Company to charge the full order amount, including delivery charges.


Orders will only be processed once full payment is successfully received. If payment authorisation fails, the order is automatically cancelled.

Prices and Delivery

  • All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).

  • The Company is not VAT registered, therefore no VAT is charged.

  • Delivery charges are calculated at checkout for South Africa. International delivery charges vary by location and item size/weight. Large or heavy custom items may incur additional delivery fees, confirmed before order placement.
     

Returns, Refunds & Reshipments

  • All sales are final.

  • Natural variations in handcrafted items do not constitute defects.

  • Claims for defective items must be notified in writing within 5 business days of delivery, with photo evidence.

  • If a valid defect is confirmed, the Customer may receive a replacement or refund. Return shipping will be at the Customer’s cost, reimbursed only if the claim is accepted.

  • Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving returned items and made via the original payment method, excluding delivery costs.

  • Reships may be allowed in extraordinary and provable cases (e.g., confirmed carrier error), at the Company’s discretion.

 

Risk of Loss
Risk of loss or damage passes to the Customer upon delivery of the order to the carrier.
The Company is not liable for delays or non-delivery by the carrier, but will assist Customers in resolving issues where possible.


Intellectual Property
All content on the Website and good for sales, including designs, graphics, logos, images, and text, is owned by Alexandra Ramos (PTY) LTD.


No copying, reproduction, or use is permitted without prior written consent.


Warranties and Liability​

  • The Company warrants that items are of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for their intended purpose, subject to the handcrafted nature of production.

  • Variations in colour, glaze, texture, and size do not constitute defects.

  • Except where required by law, the Company excludes all other warranties and is not liable for direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from use of the items or Website.

  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence or fraud.

 

Privacy and Data Protection

  • The Company collects and processes Personal Information (e.g., name, address, contact details) for purposes including order processing, delivery, marketing (with consent), and compliance with law.

  • Personal Information may be shared with third-party service providers for these purposes.

  • Reasonable technical and organisational measures are in place to protect Personal Information.

  • Customers have the right to access and correct their information, and may opt out of marketing at any time by contacting the Company.

  • Personal Information may be stored or processed outside South Africa with appropriate safeguards.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

General Provisions

  • These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company.

  • If any clause is invalid, the remaining Terms remain enforceable.

  • No waiver is binding unless in writing.

  • The Company may amend these Terms by posting updates on the Website. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

  • Any notices must be in writing and delivered by email or registered mail.
